GENERAL ART

The "earth" without "art" is just "eh"

The purpose of life is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.  Pablo Picasso.

CHRIST CHURCH - GREAT LUMLEY

Watercolour on Bockingford 16 x 12"

CHRIST CHURCH is very special to me. Mam and Dad got married there in 1956 and had their photo taken under the 'JD 1859' stone. My Great Uncles who were killed in WW1 have their names on a plaque on the lychgate and when I was 4

I had Meningitis and I've been told that many people in the village turned up to the church to pray for me.

THE SCHOOL GATE

People walk past, they don't notice the gate,

But those who've walked through, there's a past to relate.

Happiest days, some people say,

To others a misery to endure every day.

Next time you walk past a school gate on your travels

Spare a thought who's walked through

And what mystery unravels,

We all have fond memories of days spent at school

Heads stuck in books or playing the fool

We look back in time, all sitting in class

In the blink of an eye, schooldays gone in a flash

Remember school friends, whether near or far

Our days spent at school, moulded us as we are

So thanks to the teachers, for the lessons they taught

They helped to prepare us for lifes battles we fought

Throughout our great nation,

To get where we are, you helped lay the foundation

So next time you pass, stop at the gate

It all started here, to make our lives great!
