WINDOWS OF WISDOM

The eyes say it all, They saw the prop break,
The roof start to fall, The rock and the dust, No way to escape
Trapped underground, Just him and his mate
six tugs on the wire, To sound the alarm,
Time to sit still, Try to keep calm,
Ye Maras will come, As quick as they can,
To dig you both out, The mine versus man,
Work 'round the collapse, They dig through the coal,
No time to stop, They dig like a mole
The drill bit breaks through, They felt the air rush,
Their lives had been saved, They can't thank them enough
A dangerous job, The memories live on,
Seems like yesterdays, 30 years have now gone.
