Can you kill a miner`s spirit, can you weaken down his might,
Can you dampen down the flame within that fires up the light,
Can you hope his thought will water down the river to a stream ?.
YOU CAN DREAM .

Can you think that this defendant will retreat from duty born,
Can you see this man will never be the one to carry scorn,
Can you think that in his lifetime he will endeavour to redeem ?.
YOU CAN DREAM .

Can you think that in the underground his history will rot,
Can you hope his kind will die away and all will be forgot,
Can you see a dimmer vision in his cap lamp`s shining beam ?.
YOU CAN DREAM .

Can you see his hands so gentle as old age draws ever near,
Can you see his life surrounded now with loved ones very dear,
Can you think that all his breeding will alter his extreme ?.
YOU CAN DREAM .

Can you try to sing your song of lies to sway his mind of thought,
Can you rob and steal his pension of the riches that it bought,
Can you try to kill his chorus of the `Red flag`s` flying gleam ?.
YOU CAN DREAM .
